in my layperson’s opinion the thing that could/may beat Obama’s reelection chances are liberals/progressives not voting, so you know, do your part, jerks. he ain’t perfect but I like having him as the prez. I think most of us can agree that he is far preferable to the “alternative.” Don’t think for a second that the far right isn’t organized and fired up. They are ready to vote for their candidate (whoever it ends up being) just for the simple fact that they hate Obama. This is the party whose presidential candidates ALL support Personhood (the furthest right that the party’s been in years). I saw some of these people yesterday at the legislature. They are scary, misinformed, willfully ignorant right-wing Christians who spread misinformation and think that the entire country should follow their regressive agenda. We need to make sure they don’t dictate the policy and course of our country for the next four years. We need to be a loud, strong united voice. Congress matters too. Research your candidates and vote accordingly.
I’m happy to live in a solidly Democratic state for the first time in my life, and I had to register here to get residency for school, but I sort of wish I’d kept my Ohio registration. This is even more important for those of you in places like Ohio and Florida that are swing states.
I’ve always been a pragmatist; I make no apologies about that. Obama is the best realistic chance for regular people, in my opinion.

Voting for anyone else because Obama hasn’t been liberal enough is not going to solve the problem. It’s gonna exacerbate it and probably just result in loosing the little bit of ground we’ve gained.
